Crinken: A Church at the Heart of a New Community

An exciting point in our story

Crinken is a growing church in South County Dublin at an exciting point in its story. We are a welcoming, multigenerational church family.

Our 186-year-old Anglican church, once surrounded by fields, now stands at the centre of a rapidly growing residential community. With new homes and apartments all around us, we believe there are significant opportunities to share the love of Christ in fresh and meaningful ways.

A key part of our connection with the wider community is our Coffee Dock, which is open six days a week. It has become a welcoming space where people meet, build friendships and begin to connect with the life of the church. Crinken has also been approved to participate in the Church of Ireland Pioneer Ministry Project, helping us to explore new ways of engaging with the community around us.

Prayer is at the heart of all we do. We seek to be a church shaped by prayer in our worship, decision-making, outreach and daily life, depending upon God for guidance and strength in all we do.

The opportunity before us

We are looking for a new minister to help us take the next step in our journey. We want to grow as followers of Jesus, deepening our faith and becoming more intentional in discipleship. We also long to see both spiritual and numerical growth as we share the good news of Jesus with those around us.

We are especially keen to develop our ministry among children, young people and families and are seeking someone who will bring leadership and vision to this important area.

We are seeking someone who…

• Is committed to Jesus Christ and the gospel, with a prayerful dependence upon God and a passion for evangelism, discipleship and mission.
• Is a gifted preacher and teacher of Scripture who can communicate the Christian faith clearly and connect it meaningfully with everyday life.
• Has a vision for church growth, helping people of all ages to deepen their faith, discover their gifts and participate actively in discipleship, service and ministry.
• Will provide strong leadership in ministry among children, young people and families, while encouraging and equipping the whole church family for lay ministry and service.
• Has a heart for the wider community and can develop strong relationships and new opportunities for outreach and engagement.
• Is a collaborative and discerning leader who works well with others and values both traditional and contemporary expressions of worship.

There is a strong culture of lay ministry and teamwork in Crinken, and we look forward to working together with a new minister.

Crinken is a wonderful place in which to live and serve. We are approximately ten miles south of Dublin city centre, close to both the sea and the Wicklow Mountains.

We are committed to warmly welcoming and supporting our new minister as they settle into both church life and the wider community.
